A widely circulated rumor that Nintendo would be releasing two new models of the Nintendo Switch was recently confirmed by manufacturers in Nintendo’s supply chain.
Going forward, it looks like most of the heavy lifting for Nintendo Switch consoles sold in the United States will now happen in countries other than China. The Wall Street Journal reports that Nintendo and others are now moving manufacturing operations to other Asian countries in order to avoid Trump’s tariffs and the US-China trade war.
It’s unfortunate that America won’t be getting these jobs, but I guess Trump was still right when he said tariffs on many goods manufactured in China would never have to be paid.
