Mills went to the United Nations this week to virtue signal about a recent executive order she signed which mandates that Maine somehow become “carbon neutral” by 2045 — or else.
Apparently we’re going to have to stop growing food, plowing our roads, and heating our homes. Will this sacrifice be enough to appease the gods of climate?
Probably not. We’ll probably also have to take a vow of celibacy, then hand control of the economy over to Democrats so that they can centrally plan every aspect of our lives. Then and only then will we ever be forgiven our original sins of whiteness and carbon emission. What could go wrong? It’s not like Democrats are economic illiterates, right? It’s not like they have no experience providing actual value to people, right? It’s not like this faux climate alarmism is just a thin veneer that masks their lust for political power, right?
