Life comes at you fast.
In August, Lindsey Graham got on the horn with what he thought were Turkish diplomats to profess his disdain for the YPG Kurds in Syria, even going as far as to call them a “real problem” and “a threat to Turkey” that needs to be dealt with, and that “Obama made a huge mistake in relying on them”.
He even said at the time that there was no reason to sanction Turkey.
Fast forward to October and Lindsey Graham is now claiming that the YPG Kurds are our allies and that the United States has a responsibility to take action against the Erdogan administration of Turkey in response to the latter’s military operations in northern Syria.
…which one is it?
Apparently the Kurds are the mortal enemies of democracy and freedom when we’re liberating Syrian land from them on behalf of Israel, but they’re a “gallant people” (in the words of Bibi Netanyahu) who need our help when that same land falls into the hands of a country that isn’t Israel (in this case Turkey).
And yet Israel bombs Syria more than two hundred times per year with very little fanfare or selective outrage from the cosmopolitans in the media.
