In the last 20 years, the small Maine city of Lewiston (population 36,000) has undergone a rapid transformation as more than ten thousand “NEW MAINERS” from exotic places like Somalia, Sudan, Angola, and the Congo have turned up on its doorstep, ready to “contribute” to the economy.
And they certainly do contribute. They contribute a lot of demand for tax-funded public services, that’s for sure. They also contribute plenty of wear and tear on public infrastructure, which is great because it gives the city an excuse to raise property taxes without ever fixing anything.
They also contribute a lot of votes to the Democrat party, which is why Safiya Khalid is running for city council in Lewiston. She assures us that she is the most qualified candidate for the job (despite never having held one) because of her willingness to take from white land owners for the purpose of subsidizing their demographic replacement.
“We can’t achieve our goals without more public programs”, she complains.
At least she’s being honest, I guess?
